Do-It! Help:      Getting Started

<< table of contents         Step 1   Step 2 Step 3 Step 4

Step 1: Enter your personal information

The first step to using Do-It! is to enter personal information about yourself. Do-It! will use this information to determine your daily energy and nutritional requirements.

When you first start Do-It!, you will be taken through the New User Wizard step by step. This wizard will ask you for all the information Do-It! needs.

Note: If you entered all your information into the New User Wizard and want to skip ahead, you can go directly to Step 3: Record Daily Food Intake.

After completing the wizard, you can edit your personal information on the Personal Profile tab. (picture shown below)
To change your values, just type over the existing values.

The information on this screen is used to calculate:
    * How many calories you use per day.
    * Your body mass index (BMI).
    * Body fat percentage (based on your calculated lean body mass ).

Have some fun with this screen: see how being taller / wider / heavier / lighter would affect your metabolism and body fat percent!

Important Note!
People come in all shapes and sizes; the calculated metabolism and body fat are estimates only. They are based on common formulas that are based on the US population as a whole. If you are an athlete, big-boned, or very small-boned, the body fat percentage displayed may not match your actual composition, but is should be within 10%. Use the displayed information as a guideline to help you plan your diet.
